In order to maintain optimum health it is essential to consume lots of alkaline rich foods. When your body is in an alkaline state it is able to fight off disease,cleanse your blood, naturally flush out toxins, bacteria, worms, and parasites. Disease, fungus, parasites, and yeast thrives inside of an acidic environment and puts the body in a state of stress. Your body has to work twice as hard to stay healthy when you’re feeding it tons of processed junk foods. To his surprise within a week, when he awoke in the morning his blood sugar was running between 114-120 and during the day around 140. I also told Pat about several other nutritional supplements that I had read about that knock Diabetes in the butt. He has checked it out and put himself on a few more of them and has cut his Diabetes Medication by 50 percent in the past 6 weeks. I feel Pat’s body will cure itself of the Diabetes if he keeps providing the nutritional support his body is starving for. Diabetes and most all diseases are a symptom of starvation. Up until 1990’s, there was nearly no research done on the pineal gland, in other words, our third eye. As we mentioned above, fluoride was highly used by the Nazis to keep the prisoners passive in concentration camps. This results in decreased learning capability and poor memory. When our brains are not able to function properly, we are more prone to autoimmune disorders, a weakened immune system and poor physical health. Mind and body go hand in hand. If one is suffering the other will not be able to fight the stress. Fluoride also lowers our energy levels. When we don’t have enough energy, our metabolism slows down, instead of consuming healthy foods (because they require us to prepare them and since we lack the energy to cook we go for the fast and unhealthy options), we eat processed foods. Of course we don’t have to start counting the bad side effects of a diet that contains mostly processed foods, sugar, bad carbs and bad fats. The whole thing is a chain reaction if you will. Before we know it, we are part of the weak masses.
Think of pineal gland as a sponge. Why do we say that? Because it absorbs much more fluoride than our blood and our bones do. Fluoride will eventually cause calcification in our pineal gland. Like a faucet clogged with too much calcium and can not pass enough water before it is cleaned, our pineal gland will not be able to function fully when it is clogged. A mal functioning pineal gland can cause sleep problems, weight gain, early start of menstruation in girls etc.
Pineal gland also regulates the levels of serotonin and dopamin. These two hormones are closely tied to our mood. When our brains can not produce enough serotonin and dopamin we suffer from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, mood swings, lack of motivation, low energy, anger and problems with focusing among many other things.
All these health issues we talked about will reduce our ability to achieve spiritual growth. This is the most important part of the problem. If you think about most of the medications prescribed for a wide variety of diseases including depression and anxiety, they contain high levels of fluoride yes, but they also contain synthetic hormones that temper with our brain’s natural ability to produce these hormones. Once we introduce synthetic hormones to our bodies, our pineal gland loses its function. When we close our eyes, we can not see, this is a simple fact. Our pineal gland is our third eye. When it is damaged, our third eye is also closed. This is the mind’s eye, our path to higher consciousness, spiritual awareness and self awakening. No amount of meditation, efforts of positivity or spiritual practices can help us go any further if we don’t deal with the source of the problem. If you ever find yourself helplessly meditating but not making any progress, trying to do all you can to open your third eye chakra to no avail, if you can not improve your physical and mental health no matter how hard you try this is why. Because you are overlooking the most important step in the process.

If the title above did not grab your attention, we don't know what will. Why? Well, if it isn't already obvious we intentionally titled this blog for some controversy. We not only wanted to grab your attention, but we want to de-bunk any myths or pre concieved notions people have about a plant based diet. In the recent past, people have been relying on animal products to get through life on a daily basis. Most of which is consumed via the average American diet. Many people have been led to believe this is a healthy lifestyle, and although factual statistics prove otherwise...that is a conversation for another day, and another blog! :) That being said, change is necessary for human kind to continue to live. At the rate we are going now, lack of care in regards to health and sustainability could end civilization sooner than later.
While consdering these factors, we must continue to work together to educate and innovate towards making the world a better, healthier place. Whether you want to hear it or not, this starts with a plant based diet. Many believe that eating only plants is a non effective lifestyle choice for many reasons, one of which we will focus on....PROTEIN. Protein comes in all shapes and sizes, but knowing the sources can be a chllenge. The debate of whether or not animal protein is properly utilized throughout the human body is always a topic of conversation, but few focus on the natural proteins in life. For example, plant based proteins can come in the form of many foods such as lentils, peas, cauliflower, spinach, broccoli, aspargus, kale, tofu, quinoa, brown rice, oats, almonds, cashews, pistachios, and even pumkin seeds.
Although few people have lived the plant based lifestyle in the fitness community, MANY have overlooked the benefits that come along with it. In addition to the nutritional and physical benefits, a plant based diet is the most effective diet for disease prevention. Heard enough? Well, we aren't done just yet. While a proven plant based diet is the best for disease prevention, intermittnet fasting in addition to a vegan diet has been proven to not only prevent disease, but heal the body from previous injuries or disease. So why not give it a try? The numbers don't lie.
Through intermittent fasting, the body is allowed freedom to work on other aspects of your health such as weight loss and brain functionality. Not to mention, it's being deemed as the next fountain of youth remedy. So what exactly is intermittent fasting? Basically, all forms of intermittent fasting involve splitting the day or week into "eating" periods, as well as "fasting" periods. The most popular methods are that of taking a 24 hour eating period, and countering it with a 24 hour fasting period. There is also the 16 to 8 ratio method. This second method is not only the most popular, but the easiest to maintain. You are allowed 8 hours a day in which you can eat, followed by 16 hours of straight fasting for your health.
Health benefits can vary from person to person, but a few things remain universally true with intermittent fasting. One of the most benefiting factors to consider is your insulin sensitivity improving, as well as your insulin levels decreasing in the body(which allows access to stored fat). Another one if the leading benefits of intermittent fasting is an extreme rise in HGH(human growth hormone) levels. This can help build muscle, as well as burn fat throughout the body. On top of all that, gene longevity and cellular repair takes place during intermittent fasting(cells digest and remove disfuntional proteins inside cells).

I began my fitness and health journey about three years ago. A year later I started modeling and acting. My life had taken a huge turn in so many ways. What I didn’t know was that it would completely change my outlook on life. Leading me deep into, not only an intense care for myself, but a huge compassion and concern towards others and the environment.
I was really into heavy weightlifting and became obsessed with researching nutritious foods. I ate chicken, sweet potato and asparagus for almost every meal. I knew that veggies and fruits were vital to a well rounded diet, and I focused on living a healthy lifestyle, but somehow I kept experiencing issues with fatigue, mood swings, and indigestion.
One day, I finally decided to try something I had heard of a few times before that could help solve all these negative symptoms. I cut out all dairy and gluten products from my diet. I did this for a month. Strictly. The results were amazing! I felt SO much more energy, clear headed, and my digestion was better than it had ever been before! I was so happy to finally find a way out of these issues I had battled for years.
After completing the month of my dietary experiment, I decided to finally reward myself with some bread (not gluten free, might I add). To my surprise, I still felt amazing. So the next day, I added some dairy to my diet to see how I felt with that.
Not so good.
I decided to slowly ease off of dairy until i finally had zero intake of it. It wasn’t hard, knowing how much healthier and cleaner I would feel without it. Before much longer, I was completely dairy free and NEVER looking back.
After a while, I decided to stop purchasing my own meat products due to expenses and cooking convenience. Beans, legumes and nuts were just so much more nutrient dense and much easier to prepare on the spot. They also tasted better when reheated in my meal prep. I would treat myself to some meat if I was out eating with friends, or if I was somewhere with limited options.
I considered myself to be “vegan” at home, with the occasional indulgence in meat or eggs when outside of my home. However one day, my whole perspective changed.
I came across a quick five minute video of the dairy industry (which I already was extremely jaded towards… for obvious reasons) and it explained how cows are consistently inseminated and fed growth hormones in order to produce the milk that people consume every day in cheeses, butter, cream, milk, yogurt, protein powders, etc. My heart was breaking and head was shaking. I couldn’t understand why anyone had ever thought that this was something acceptable to do to another living being!
Then it explained how male cows (that can’t reproduce and lactate) and female cows that give out due to over-usage are slaughtered and used in the meat industry. Insert more shaking of the head.
I was done. I couldn’t do it anymore. Why did I feel like eating meat every once in awhile was a “treat”? When in reality, it was my pocket condoning a terrible act of cruelty. This was no treat. This meat on my plate... was a business. I felt horribly guilty. I couldn’t let myself continue to say “yes” to something that was hurting so many other beings and even contributing to huge climate changes and other environmental issues (watch Cowspiracy, do some research!).
My journey towards this lifestyle, beginning with a little bit of research, curiosity, and my abandonment of dairy, started two years ago. I have never been so in tune with how my body feels, and so proud of my choices and a way of life. Not only have I made the decision to be a “plant based vegan” for the animals, the environment, and for a progressive world that needs people to take initiative, but also for myself.
So that when I am in a restaurant, or cooking at home, or out at a cafe, I can make decisions for myself that I know will provide me with success. Success in a healthy lifestyle, a clean body, a positive influence, and a happier, conscious me.
