Tea is a unique drink that offers health benefits unknown to any other food or drink. There’s something about nature that instinctively knows what our bodies need, and the less we try to change it, the better. More and more research is being discovered about why exactly drinking tea has so many beneficial properties over trying to take a pill, extract, or supplement. The result is always the same- the less unnatural changes tea leaves go through, the more health-promoting they are.

Upon searching for information and articles about tea and its relation to our health, you will be overwhelmed at the studies showing the numerous health benefits about drinking tea. Tea drinking appears to lower risk for heart disease and stroke. Caffeine and antioxidants called catechins found in green, oolong, and white teas may increase metabolism and promote weight loss. Natural compounds called polyphenols in green tea can help protect against several cancers in the GI tract, lungs, breast, prostate, and skin. Tea polyphenols are thought to strengthen bones and protect against fractures. People who drink tea could see improvements in mood, concentration, and performance.
The benefits of tea range in what they can do for your body and health but all are positive effects. The only negative affect? Adding the wrong things to your tea. This means that heaping sugar and cream into your tea can quickly add a negative side to your drink. Keeping the focus on the tea leaves themselves is the best form of tea drinking, potentially adding lemon or agave for added health benefits.
Adding green tea to your daily routine can give your body a safe, natural health boost as well as an energy and mood enhancement. Take control of your health by adding in as many natural, organic foods and drinks as you can while simultaneously cutting out processed and unnatural substances. Let’s drink a cup of tea to our health!
